Dog training

Training with Keith

A Cane Corso is powerful, smart and eager to work. Training is what turns all of that into a calm, confident family guardian. Here's a look at how Keith works with dogs.

Bella, 7-month-old Cane Corso: hand commands

Keith works with Bella, a 7-month-old Cane Corso, on silent hand commands. A Corso that responds to hand signals is a calmer, more reliable dog at home and out in public.

What we work on

The basics that make a great Corso

These are the same foundations Keith builds with every dog, and the ones he recommends every new owner keep working on at home.

01

Hand commands

Silent signals for sit, down, stay and come. A dog that watches you instead of waiting to hear you is easier to manage anywhere.

02

Leash manners

A 100-plus-pound adult needs to walk calmly at your side. That habit starts on day one with short, consistent sessions.

03

Focus around distractions

People, other dogs, traffic and noise. Practicing commands around real-world distractions is what makes training stick.

04

Early socialization

A Corso is naturally protective. Meeting lots of people, places and sounds while young builds a steady, confident guardian.
