The breed

Breed standard

Diagrams of correct and incorrect Cane Corso head type and body structure, the traits we breed toward.

A breed standard is the blueprint for what a Cane Corso should look like and how it should be built to do its job.

When we plan a litter here in Georgia, we're breeding toward that blueprint: a strong, athletic guardian with a broad, deep muzzle, a muscular neck, a compact body and a confident, balanced build. The diagrams below compare correct structure with common faults in the head and body. They're a good way to train your eye before you meet any breeder's dogs, including ours.
